I wondered about JSON serialization too - lots of discussion on this here https://github.com/tc39/proposal-bigint/issues/24 and here https://github.com/tc39/proposal-bigint/issues/162 . After 15 minutes down that rabbit-hole, the answer is…

BigInt is in Stage 4 ( https://github.com/tc39/proposal-bigint ) which means that more than 2 implementations are shipping it unflagged. This is the last stage of any proposal in the TC39 process, which means it is de facto part of the…

There is no implicit conversion. 0x1n === 0x1 returns false. See here: https://github.com/tc39/proposal-bigint#no-implicit-conversi... Shifting is specified here: https://tc39.github.io/proposal-bigint/#sec-numeric-types-bi...

I guess BigInt (i.e. native integer support) is only stage 3: https://github.com/tc39/proposal-bigint It's the feature I'd most like to see added.
