  1. Similar https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp
  2. There isn't something as mature as gVisor afaik. https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp implements many of the same abstractions as gVisor.
  3. > no networking support Would something like Smoltcp be of help here? https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp Great project either way! How do you decide which sys calls to work on? Is is based on what the user space binaries demand?
  4. And similarly, for Rust: https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp I've been using it in a toy OS project and it works brilliantly.

  5. There is also the Rust TCP/IP stack https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp which is not mentioned as reference (and it's probably more useful to have a look there than querying ChatGPT).

  6. This seems close to what you're asking for: https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp A small-ish tcp/ip stack, in rust, that can use TAP so you're down in the weeds making the packets.

  7. …input, maybe even over the network? This here is a kernel including a memory-safe TCP/IP stack ( https://github.com/smoltcp-rs/smoltcp/ ), and not having it crash or be full of security vulnerabilities due to preventable memory corruption…

  9. …appliances to userspace Linux. In fact, it has instructions for Hosted Usage[0] in the README. [0]: https://github.com/m-labs/smoltcp#hosted-usage-examples

  10. …either simply by reading the original late 70s RFCs. I literally did this. It's called smoltcp ( https://github.com/m-labs/smoltcp ) and we use it in production as an lwIP replacement with great results.
