  1. …elaborate, hashbrown uses quadratic-ish probing over groups, each group can store 16 slots on sse2. https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown/blob/master/src/contr... https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown/blob/6efda58a30fe712a...
  2. I thought everyone used hashbrown now https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown
  3. …package). Notice "use hashbrown::hash_map as base;" at the top. There's far more unsafe there: https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown/blob/f2e62124cd947b5e...

  5. Thanks, great point indeed. I am looking into this https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown The way I think about it -- rather naively, I suppose -- is that I care more about the references cells make to each other than the actual grid of…

  6. …now. This just calculates the number of buckets based on the number of items requested: https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown/blob/009969a860290849... In the worst case all the items you insert will go in one bucket, and you'll have to…

  8. …Rust. This is true, but the hashbrown project has some hacked-up variants it claims work on stable: https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown/blob/bbda6e0077bafb75... 2. Rust not having fast thread locals. Same problem for me, so likewise did…

  10. https://github.com/rust-lang/hashbrown is a port of Google's SwissTable algorithm (abseil flat_hash_map). It also uses SIMD filtering and has the potential to be quite good.
