…Org-mode with code blocks could be used to run code and display its results e.g., ob-ipython https://github.com/gregsexton/ob-ipython

github.com/gregsexton/ob-ipython is by a good margin my favorite way to do literate programming. All the power of org with most of the Jupyter goodies. Only downside relative to jupyter in browser is missing the interactive javascript…

This is great for working with python - https://github.com/gregsexton/ob-ipython I haven't had as much luck using it for other languages, but I also haven't put in much effort into trying.

There is also https://github.com/gregsexton/ob-ipython which integrates a Jupyter kernel into org-mode's #+BEGIN_SRC/#+END_SRC blocks. It can display the results of the execution of such blocks much like Jupyter Notebook.

Org mode rocks! And with ob-ipython you basically get same functionality as the notebook... https://github.com/gregsexton/ob-ipython
