macOS does in fact runs well* on Linux, see: https://github.com/dockur/macos Edit: Well-ish, as there's no GPU acceleration as noted in the comments below.

Exactly, both https://github.com/dockur/macos and https://github.com/sickcodes/Docker-OSX rely on x86 and KVM for HW acceleration
