Did you try marker? https://github.com/VikParuchuri/marker I haven't tried olmocr yet and I now realize my 8GB GPU probably won't cut it, as it used a 7B param VLM model under the hood.

i've made quite good conversions from pdf to markdown with https://github.com/VikParuchuri/marker . it's slow but worth a shot. Markdown should be easily parseable by a rag. i'm trying to get a similar system setup on my computer.

Maybe you could use: https://github.com/facebookresearch/nougat/tree/main or https://github.com/VikParuchuri/marker Both are tools to convert pdfs into Latex or Markup with latex formulas. Maybe that helps
